The speed at which babies grow full hair varies widely – some show no hair until they are an adult toddler, others both have voluminous locks.
But two-year-old Dollie is compared to Princess Rapunzel for the similarities of their long, luscious locks.
The little girl made the headlines when she was born with extraordinarily thick hair, and two years later her locks are even more impressive – they grow all the way to her lower back.
Her mother, Katie Canham, 34, says strangers now continually compare her young child to Rapunzel whenever they see her locks.
But Dollie’s siblings – Archie, 12, Ellie, 9, Reggie, 4, and Sonnie, 1 – don’t share her impressive hair.
Dollie, from Bromley in south London, had her first haircut when she was just three months old – and Katie now spends almost half an hour each morning styling her daughter’s hair.
Katie said: “It now reaches down to her lower back. I’ve never seen a toddler with hair like this before.
“People always tell us she’s like little Rapunzel because of the amount of hair she has.
“And then when I tell them she’s two, they just can’t believe it.
Katie said strangers often don’t believe that Dollie is only two years old because she looks much older than her actual age due to “the large amount of hair she has.”
She continued, “People’s reaction is funny. But she loves her long hair and so do I.”
Katie expresses that her daughter’s hair can be quite a challenge to deal with in the morning as it tends to get very knotty.
And if she’s also in charge of washing her hair, that adds another 20 minutes to the 30 minutes she already spends doing her hair – but admits her daughter enjoys the grooming session.
But if Dollie could manage to get her hair done, she would drop everything – something her mom just can’t afford.
She added, “But I can’t let her have it all the time because of the way it ties up, and it gets things stuck in it sometimes.
Katie admits she enjoyed going to YouTube to watch hair tutorials to teach Dollie her new style.
And her daughter definitely makes it a more enjoyable experience as she stays still during the styling.
