Melanie Wins Industry Award | Peterborough Matters

A Peterborough salon has beaten competition from the UK and Ireland to win a prestigious GLammies by Great Lengths award.

Melanie McDonald of Melanie Richard’s Hair & Beauty took home the trophy in the South East Salon of the Year category, one of 16 awards up for grabs on the evening.

Now in its 10th year, the 2021/22 GLammies by Great Lengths recognizes the most talented popularizers in the UK and Ireland and celebrates the craft, creativity and trade of hair extensions.

The scintillating event took place at the Steel Yard in bustling London and was attended by over 150 guests.

Judged by some of the most respected names in the industry, as well as editors from the hairdressing press, the black tie party was hosted by How To Cut It podcast founder Dom Lehane and included an appetizer, a three-course dinner and an after party.

The evening included six specialist categories, eight regional awards, an award for charitable work and the evening’s most coveted title, the Great Lengths for Extension Excellence Trophy, awarded to an outstanding extensionist.

Along with a glittering GLammies trophy, Melanie and all other winners receive tickets to a tour of the Great Lengths production facility in Rome, complete with two nights of five-star accommodation, meals and on-site transfers for two. . The award also includes social media coverage and PR opportunities in trade and local press, ensuring Melanie can spread her recognition as the best in the business.
