How to take care of your hair and nails in winter

Winter time is a time of celebration. Needless to say, you have to be at your best. As the cold, dry winds of winter ravage your skin, you need to be prepared with your army of moisturizers, cold creams, and cleansing milks to keep your skin glowing in winter. Here are some tips for keeping that shine and shine.

· An oil massage or a generous application of moisturizer shortly after bathing is the best gift for the skin during the cold, dry months. At home, try pasta with turmeric, besan, and crème fraîche. Over-the-counter brands like L’Oreal Body Lotion, Efatop-PE Lotion, Dermadew Lotion, Cutisoft Lotion can all be used as moisturizers. Apply moisturizers that have a long life and are enriched with products like squalene, hyaluronic acid, essential fatty acids, etc. During the day, sunscreen with built-in moisturizers of SPF above 25 is a must.

Start orally EPO (evening primrose oil) capsules 1000 mg 1 per day during the 3 winter months. Alternatively, Imedeen tablets two a day for three months also help dry skin.

Again, some parts of the body require special care during the winter months. These are your feet and your hands. Especially the feet tend to crack and these are the most neglected areas, constantly exposed to dirt and drought. Apply heavy petroleum jelly cream and wear soft cotton socks. Your scalp also needs a special mention as many of us suffer from dandruff which can have a long term effect on hair loss. Use a shampoo that contains ketoconazole once a week.

· However, applying various products only to the outer surface does not lead to ultimate healthy skin. What we need is healthy food and a peaceful mind. Meals should contain a sufficient amount of juicy fruits and vegetables with at least 12-14 glasses of water per day. Fluid intake helps your skin to automatically retain essential oils and acts as a natural protection against dryness.
