How to get Elizabeth Olsen’s new Bob Emmys

Thanks to his role on WandaVision (and a lot of wigs), we’ve seen Elizabeth Olsen sport so many hairstyles in a short period of time – short and curly, very long and straight, very long and teased, medium length and inspired by “The Rachel”, extremely red. We had yet to see Olsen in a super glam, wavy bob, and that’s what she debuted at the 2021 Emmys last night.

Before Olsen hit the red carpet, hairstylist Adir Abergel cut the contestant’s long hair and adult curtain bangs into what he accurately describes as “the perfect bob”. You can fall in love from all angles in the clip he posted below. It’s already accompanied by the romantic slow dance song of Disney’s “Cinderella”, for your convenience.

It was the dress that Olsen’s two older sisters made for her to wear at the Emmys that inspired Abergel to create the new look. “I immediately fell in love with the shape of her dress and wanted to create a similar silhouette with the hair,” Abergel said in a statement. He also shot images of Lauren Bacall and Grace Kelly, and injected the photos back “with minimalism references to make sure the look was modern.”

To style Olsen’s new hair silhouette, Abergel created this incredibly deep Old Hollywood side part with a ghd flat brush and blow-dried her hair gently from root to tip using the ghd professional hair dryer. Helios. Then he carefully created waves to add movement and curled the ends of the hair back using the ghd Curve Classic Curl curling iron. To complete the look, Abergel simply applied a dime-sized amount of anti-frizz cream for extra shine. Paired with diamond earrings, an all-over Chanel product applied by Pati Dubroff and a dress by The Row.
