First-of-its-kind members club and hotel The Aster makes Hollywood debut

Salt Hotels and Stockdale Capital unveil the 95,000 square foot property, which opens as a preview, and the upcoming launch of the Lemon Grove restaurant.

Today, award-winning hotel group, Salt Hotels, announces the opening of The Aster – an adults-only club and hotel housed in an impressive six-story building at the iconic intersection of Vine Street and Hollywood Boulevard. The hybrid members’ club and hotel was designed around the deep belief that the next generation of private members’ clubs will embody the warmth, hospitality and sophistication of the world’s finest luxury boutique hotels.

A destination to refresh and refocus, L’Aster weaves the pleasures of hospitality into everyday life. The sprawling club offers an extensive range of facilities under one roof, including a screening room, swimming pool, cabaret room, lounges, a salon by renowned hairstylist Jonathan Antin, dedicated workspaces, a studio recording and more.

Named after the native Aster flower that blooms across Los Angeles, the property also offers 35 sprawling, fully-equipped guest rooms with interior design inspired by Old Hollywood. Suites are available for public booking, welcoming hotel guests as temporary members with access to all amenities and programming during their stay.

Members will find programming woven throughout The Aster’s various spaces, including educational talks, masterclasses, screenings, DJ sets, musical shows and unique performances. With a culture created by Salt Hotels co-founders David Bowd and Kevin O’Shea and their team, The Aster keeps kindness at its core, where anyone who wants to join is welcome – there are no criteria defined. Membership is not exclusive to creatives or like-minded people, with a vision to welcome a melting pot of personalities from different backgrounds and industries.

The space serves as a destination for activating minds and bodies, where individuals can work, play and stay, surrounded by robust programming in the heart of Hollywood.

To celebrate the launch of the Aster, Hollywood-born visual artist Tristan Eaton was commissioned to create a massive mural on the south side of the building. Using the exterior of the members’ club and hotel as a canvas, Eaton’s installation will pay homage to Hollywood history and its subculture as its foundation, with portraits of Sidney Poitier and Judy Garland.
