Patrons celebrate “Your Hairstylist’s Love Month” as salons turn lockouts from shaggy to chic.
SYDNEY [Australia], November 1, 2021 – With the easing of lockdown restrictions, the Australian Hairdressing Council is launching its ‘Love Your Hairdresser Month’ wellness campaign today, encouraging customers across Australia to show their appreciation to their clients. hairstylists and barbers and celebrate the diverse role they play in our communities.
With salon doors forced to close for most of 2020-2021, the pandemic has demonstrated how hairdressers not only provide physical service, but also support people’s emotional health and community bonding.
Sandy Chong, CEO of the Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC), said: “A salon visit becomes an afternoon of respite for many people, which helps promote self-esteem and self-confidence. Hairdressers and barbers do more than cut and color hair, they foster a sense of personal well-being.
Following the inaugural success of the 2020 campaign, this year, the Australian Hairdressing Council is delighted to align with American Express’s Shop Small initiative to bring “Your Hairstylist’s Love Month” to life. Sandy said, “A lot of salons are run by small business owners. American Express’s Shop Small initiative inspires consumers to spend with local small businesses – exactly what hairstylists and barbers need. Throughout November, “Love Your Hairdresser Month” celebrates the return of the hairstylist and barber community, their contribution to the well-being and value of small businesses. “
