‘Bigger and better than ever’: Beauty entrepreneur set to open Teesside’s first ‘super salon’
A salon owner has announced plans to open Teesside’s first ‘super salon’.
All Dolled Up, which is based on Normanby Road, aims to “take living rooms to a whole new level” with their new space. It will include a nail bar, hairdressers, make-up salons and a seamstress.
Normanby’s Amy Louise Tombling is set to create “a whole new experience” for beauty lovers – and it will even include a bar. The super salon is expected to be completed by the end of August.

The 31-year-old started the business nearly a decade ago and it has proven hugely popular with his 10,400 Facebook followers. However, after the lockdown, Amy decided it was time to “step up a gear”.
She said: “I want it to be more than a living room – I want it to be an experience. I had a lot of time to reflect in confinement on what I had achieved, what I could have accomplish.”
Amy will transform an industrial unit in the Skippers Lane industrial estate in Middlesbrough into a glamorous beauty spot. She even ordered ten-foot palm trees for decoration.

The salon owner had been styling her friends since she was young and only realized she had a special skill when loved ones continued to compliment her work. She started advertising hair bookings on social media and juggled her previous job as a receptionist at a doctor’s office.
Amy said: “I thought anyone could do it, I didn’t realize people couldn’t do it! I went to my cousin’s wedding and did my sister’s hair and all day my mom was asking who did it.
“Within two weeks of the ad, I was sold out every Saturday. I used to do pin-ups at 6 a.m. before work, get home at dinnertime, and do another pin-up, then go back to work.

Amy is currently preparing to add a mezzanine and stairs to the industrial unit but hopes for a grand opening before the end of the summer. She said, “As long as I can paint it pink, I’m leaving!”

All Dolled Up’s Facebook ad was popular with the show’s dedicated customers. The message reads: “We are keeping a secret.
“All Dolled Up HQ has a new location. We’re going bigger and better than ever.
“The vision I have for Teesside’s first super show is a dream come true and we will be joined by the best of the best in the industry. Opening summer 2022.”
The company already offers a wide range of beauty treatments including hairdressing, fake tan, manicure and waxing, therefore with a larger space.
