Belfast hair salon worker flees first floor window during robbery

Police are investigating reports that a woman was attacked by a man with a baseball bat during a violent robbery in south Belfast.

Another woman had to flee from a first floor window during the incident at a living room in Lisburn Road on Sunday evening, according to the PSNI.

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of an armed robbery at business premises.

Detective Sergeant Gardiner said: ‘Around 7.40pm it was reported that two males entered a living room in the area. A man, armed with a knife, demanded money from an employee. Another female staff member was allegedly assaulted by the second man with a baseball bat during the incident.

“The men then left on foot with a sum of money towards the Sandy Row area. A third female staff member inside the premises at the time of the incident managed to escape through a window in the first No serious injuries were reported, but staff members were seriously shaken.

“The knife-wielding man is described as wearing a blue colored coat, gray stockings, navy sneakers, gray stockings and a gray hat. The second man is described as wearing a burgundy colored coat, a green hooded top, a gray hat and gray stockings.

“Investigations are continuing and we are calling on anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1620 20/02/22.”
