Beige nails are the simple manicure trend in Hollywood

  • Beige nails are having a moment right now.
  • Countless celebrities have traded in their nail art for simple beige manicures.
  • You can wear the trend with ombre designs, the coffin shape, and acrylics.

Minimalist beauty trends are on the rise – just look at some of the recent award shows, red carpet events and celebrity Instagram pages. The nails, in particular, recently got a massive overhaul. Instead of the over-the-top, over-the-top nail art trends, beige nails are starting to take over. Trends come and go, and right now we’re seeing a swing of the pendulum in favor of simple, neutral nails.

Take, for example, the model nail trend beloved by celebrities, of which Jennifer Lopez, Sabrina Carpenter, Zendaya and Kourtney Kardashian are all fans. Or the tip of the milk bath nails, which see a milky white color on your tips. It’s the one Madonna, Megan Markle and Kylie Jenner wore recently. All feature a beige nail base – and are about as easy as manicures go.

“It seems to be a reaction to how overdone and wild the nails were for a while,” Eunice Park, manicurist and head of research and development at Aprés Nail, told POPSUGAR. “Now everyone seems to be going back to more natural and wearable nails.”

The pandemic has certainly influenced this change. “It made us appreciate our natural features,” says makeup artist and beauty content creator Megan Lavallie. “That’s what minimal makeup, hair and nails is: it allows your unique features to shine.”

Lavallie has been loving the look of her natural nails lately and even predicted that “Parisian nails” would be a huge trend this coming year. In a TikTok video talking about it, she describes it as nail polish colors that “look a bit like they came from your own fingernails.”

Whether you’re following the beige manicure trend by letting your natural nails grow out, stocking up on barely-there beige nail polish shades, or even opting for beige ombre nails over extensions such as acrylics or gel tips- x Afterwards, you can make no mistake. The result is subtle yet refreshing. In keeping with this trend, Park noted that Aprés has just launched a new range of Aprés Neutrals. “[It] has done extremely well with this increase in the look of clean, minimalist nails.”
